Hawzah News Agency- Head of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences Ali Akbar Ali Akbarov, said in a speech at this meeting,” This institute has a long history of cooperation with the scientific, cultural and artistic institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran, including the embassy and cultural consultation, and in addition to publishing books, holding joint events is also on the agenda.”
He described the joint cooperation of this institute with Iran beyond the academic and scientific categories, saying,” Considering that Russia has been damaged by the misconceptions and false attitude towards Islam in the form of Takfiris, Salafis and Wahhabis during the past years, We have embarked on joint cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran in the field of education about true Islam.”
The head of the Russian Institute of Oriental Studies further pointed to the joint cooperation between Russia, China and the Islamic Republic of Iran in dealing with the unipolar world, emphasizing that these three countries are together as a strong triangle.
Referring to the interview of Ayatollah Alireza Arafi after his meeting with Pope Francis, the leader of world Christians, this Russian expert addressed the Head of Iranian seminaries, saying,” You mentioned in this interview that the basis of Abrahamic and monotheistic religions is the same and this brings us closer to one another.”
Stating that the role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in this regard is vital, Ali Akbarov referred to the idea of the late Ayatollah Taskhiri on the approximation of Islamic religions as a significant idea and said,” Today, by taking advantage of such an idea, we witness interfaith dialogue between Muslims of different religions in Russia.”
Cordial ties between Iran and Russia is crucial
Vitaly Naumkin, the scientific director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, stated that Iran is our long-standing partner in this institute, adding that currently, and considering the pressures of the West against these two countries, the friendship and closeness of Iran and Russia is of great significance.
Naumkin, who specializes in Arab and Middle East issues, further expressed his regret that today's world has become a world full of violence.
Condemnation of Israel's attack on Yemen
This Russian expert further noted that the events happening in Syria, Lebanon and Palestine due to the inhumane actions of The US and Israel are our concern today.
Reacting to the Zionist regime's attack on the port city of Hodeida in western Yemen and the burning of an oil tank as a result of these attacks, Naumkin said, "Israel's attacks are horrible and what we can do is to condemn these barbaric attacks."
